Toenail Fungus
Nail fungus is also called onychomycosis (on-ih-koh-my-KOH-sis). Nail fungus is one of the most common and widespread infections of the nail. Nail fungus is probably one of the most common conditions seen by Foot Doctors. Nail fungus progression is slow and normally starts with darkening or yellowing discoloration of the nail. As the fungal infection gets worse you will start to notice the nail become brittle and/or thickened. Nail fungus can affect several nails or all the toenails.
